About the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel

Standing at 200 feet tall, the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel offers views of The Island, Pigeon Forge’s retail, dining and entertainment venue, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. A centerpiece to Pigeon Forge, the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel is one of the tallest attractions in the Southeast.

The wheel opened on June 21, 2013, and has been offering both guests and locals unparalleled views since.

Riding the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel

Board the glass gondola, accommodating up to eight guests, and enjoy the ride. A full ride takes between eight to minutes, going around four times. The climate-controlled gondolas allow you to ride through all four seasons.

Ride the Great Smoky Mountain Wheel in the evening to catch a bird’s-eye view of The Island’s water light show. The wheel itself even has a light show featuring 24,000 square feet of LED lights.

Great Smoky Mountain Wheel Prices

Adults (ages 12 and older): $15 | Children (ages 3–11): $10 | Seniors (ages 60 and older): $12

A military discount is available and reduces the ticket price down to $12. Locals can save with a discount that brings the cost to $10.

VIP gondolas, featuring leather seats, an escort to the front of the line and souvenir gift bag, accommodate up to four guests and cost $75.

If you plan on riding the wheel twice in one day, purchase the Day/Night Combo for $20. This lets you take in the day-time views and the light show in the evening.
