Lightning Rod® at Dollywood Named One of the Top 10 “Best Rollercoasters”

Recently, USA Today’s 10Best announced the top 10 best rollercoasters in the country. Lightning Rod® roller coaster at Dollywood took sixth place on that list.
Dollywood’s Lightning Rod
Lightning Rod is one of the world’s fastest wooden roller coasters. The ride starts by launching riders from zero to 45 miles per hour up a 20-story hill in a 1950s-style hot rod. The ride features even more airtime movements, including a twin summit airtime hills. You’re sure to scream during the 165-foot drop. Lightning Rod reaches a top speed of 73 miles per hour, the fastest speed for a wooden roller coaster in the world.
Dollywood was also listed in the top 10 for “Best Amusement Park” in the U.S. by USA Today’s 10Best for the last two years.
