The month of August is full of fun and exciting events all across the Tennessee Smokies, from Sevierville to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Whether you’re searching for family-friendly events, food and drink events, live music or free festivals, you’ll have plenty of options to choose. Here are our top five events happening in the Tennessee Smokies during August.

Aug. 1–31: Celebrate Freedom!
Honor America’s heroes during the month of July in Pigeon Forge. During Celebrate Freedom!, participating businesses throughout Pigeon Forge will offer discounts to active duty and retired military personnel, as well as police officers, firefighters and other emergency responders. Let the town of Pigeon Forge recognize all these heroes have done for our country during this celebration. To receive this discount, proper ID and proof of service is required.
Aug. 3: Tennessee Smokies BeerFest
Minor league baseball team, the Tennessee Smokies, invite you out for a beer during the 2nd Annual Tennessee Smokies BeerFest. The festival, held Saturday, Aug. 3 at Smokies Stadium, will feature samples from over 30 breweries with unlimited pours. Festival goers will also receive two drink tickets to Old Forge Distillery’s tasting section and a ticket to a Tennessee Smokies baseball game. BeerFest is dog-friendly and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Young-Williams Animal Center.
Aug. 24: Rock the Smokies
Don’t miss Dollywood’s Christian Music Festival on Saturday, Aug. 24. Rock the Smokies will feature a different kind of worship music, powerful Christian rock. The festival features a number of exciting acts, including For King & Country and Zach Williams, all day long.

Aug. 24: Autumn Leaves Expo
Summer is quickly coming to a close, so get into the fall spirit at the 2nd Annual Autumn Leaves Expo. The expo, held Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Sevierville Civic Center, will be a day of fun, games, drawings, shopping food and more.
Aug. 27–Sept. 2: Sevier County Fair
Enjoy all of the traditions of a hometown fair at the Sevier County Fair. This charming agricultural fair will feature midway games, carnival rides, contests, concerts and more. Each day offers special activities. The Sevier County Fair is perfect for the whole family.
