Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas

Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas

Presented by Humana, the 2020 Dollywood Smoky Mountain Christmas is an event not to miss this year!

2020 has been rocky to say the least. Dolly Parton decided that she wanted to bring smiles to all faces by making this the best Christmas event ever! "Some Christmases are more memorable than others, and I think this year is certainly one we won't forget," Parton said in a release. "I want families to feel the warmth and comfort of all the great things they remember about Dollywood at Christmas."

Grab the family and come out; wander through the grounds and enjoy the 5 million twinkling holiday lights that illuminate brightly throughout the park. Did you know that every area has a different theme with different colored lights? They do! Know before ya go that due to COVID-19, the show times will not be displayed in order to keep the crowds to a minimum.

COVID-19 did not put a damper on the indoor performances this year either. You can catch a holiday performance at your leisure. The holiday performances are lively and will surely add Christmas cheer to your heart! “We were really excited to be able to open some of our indoor theaters. Obviously social distancing between families that have come in to see it, people are wearing their masks,” Ellen Liston, public relations manager for Dollywood, said. The indoor shows will be shorter in length to allow for the extra cleaning time needed due to Covid-19 stipulations.

Dollywood is adding a new fireworks display for 2020. Add some sparkle to your Christmas this year and enjoy the "Merry & Bright" fireworks display that features a spectacular display accompanied with contemporary holiday songs.

Santa will be in the park this year as well. In case you didn't know already, Dollywood is where Santa spends most of his "off" days! Guests will be able to see inside Santa's cabin and watch him check his "list"! Restrictions are different this year due to COVID. Children will not be allowed to sit on Santa's lap. Instead, they will be able to find out whether their name in on the naughty or nice list and have their photo taken as the peer through the window of the cabin. Read more about Santa.
